Can I change my booking?

You can change your booking up to 48 hours prior to pick up. Please write an email to the address given in the confirmation mail. There is a 5€ charge.

Can I cancel my booking?

Cancellation is only allowed up till 48 hours prior to pick up. If you cancel after that date without insurance you are obliged to pay the full rental fee.

If I am late returning the car is there an additional charge?

Rental days are based on 24 hours units, commencing at the time of pick up. If you return the car late, you will be charged a full day after 1 hour on a daily rate that may differ from the rate you have paid for the booking made.

I have booked but have not received my email confirmation?

You will automatically receive an email confirmation. If not, please send an email to reservation@addcarrental.com and we will inquire into the matter.

Will I have to pay for a full tank of petrol?

The car will be provided to you with a full tank. If you do not return the car with a full tank we will charge you for the re-filling according to our re-filling chart.

Why do I need to pay a deposit when I pick up the car?

To ensure payment for fuel, damages, extra days, penalties etc. we need to take a deposit from your credit card, generally between 400€ and 1500€. If there are no extra costs, the deposit will be released within 10 working days, plus bank transfer time.

What is your fuel policy?

The car will be provided to you with a full tank. If you do not return it full, we will charge you for the re-filling.

Can I rent a car if I don't have a credit card?

No, we do not accept cash or debit cards.

What kind of credit cards do you accept?

We accept Visa and MasterCard.

Can I book diesel cars?

Yes, but it depends on location.

How do I make a complaint once the rental is over?

Please send an email to CS@addcarrental.com stating your agreement number and your complaint.

Can I do one-way rentals?

Yes, within and between many countries. Inquire with reservation@addcar.com before booking.

Can I take the car out of the country?

Generally only with consent. Never allowed outside the European Union.

What do I need to pick up the car?

  • Credit card: With sufficient funds for deposit.
  • Driving licence: Valid and at least two years old. If non-Roman alphabet, a translation is required.

Do I have to pay the self-risk in case of accident?

If you took insurance to waive self-risk, no payment is needed. Otherwise, you may be liable for 200€-500€ depending on the country.

What do I do if I have an accident?

Report to the local partner within 24 hours. Notify the police, complete an accident report, and keep all documentation. Failure to follow procedures may invalidate insurance.

Is personal accident insurance included?

No, but your holiday insurance may cover this. Check with your insurer.

Is third party liability included?

Yes.

What if I return the car early?

No refund is given for unused time. You may claim through your travel insurance.

Why do I need cancellation insurance?

Without cancellation insurance, full rental will be charged if you cannot pick up the car due to sickness, flights, etc.

Am I allowed to take the cars off-road?

No. All insurance is void and all damage will be charged.

What if the car is stolen?

You are liable for 10% of the value. If you don't return keys, remote, or registration certificate, you may be charged full value.

What happens if I have parking fine?

Pay it yourself. Otherwise, we will pay and charge your credit card up to 100% of the fine value.

Can more than one person drive the car?

Yes, but declare the other driver at pick up.

Children and safety

In many countries, children under 135cm must use a child seat or booster, which you can rent.

What if I get lost?

We recommend booking a GPS with the car.

How can I get an invoice?

We will send it by email after return. Contact us for adjustments.

Must I have my driver's license with me?

Yes. Only original licenses in Roman letters are accepted.

Once I have collected the car, can I extend the lease?

Usually yes, unless cars are fully booked.

If I return late is there a charge?

Yes. After 1 hour, a full extra day is charged.

What should I do with paperwork pertaining to my rental?

Keep all documents (rental agreement, invoice, fuel receipts) in case you need to refer to them.

What will happen when I arrive to pick up my rental?

You will sign a rental agreement. You may request delivery or collection (fees may apply). Most locations offer drop boxes. Notify us if you'll return after hours.

Grace Period

Most agencies allow 59 minutes after the 24-hour period without charging another day.

One Ways

Dropping off the car at a different location is a one-way. Some are free, others incur a fee, especially international ones.

What is a Rental Agreement?

A contract signed at pickup covering all details of the rental. Email confirmation is not a rental agreement.

What is the Rental Period?

Rental periods are in 24-hour increments.

Roadside Assistance

Usually included. The number is in the glove box or on the keychain.

How can I pay for my rental?

We accept Visa and MasterCard. No debit cards, Discover, personal checks, or cash.

Is an International Driver's License mandatory in Europe?

It is mandatory in several countries and highly recommended in non-English speaking countries.
