Terms and Conditions


CONTRACT:


The legal contract for rental is between the driver of the vehicle as mentioned on the rental contract and Green Rent A Car.


AFTER HOURS
OFF HOUR Fee of $25 applies before 7am and after 10pm. When make your reservation online enter a note with the approximate time to return the car. This charge will be applied at the counter.

AGE
Must be 25 years old. For rivers younger than 25 years an UNDERAGE FEE of $20 per day will be applied.

BUSINESS HOURS
Miami International Airport is opened Monday through Sunday from 7:00AM- 12:00 AM.

Miami Beach is open Monday through Sunday from 8.00 – 7.00PM

CANCELLATION
Cancellation fee of $25 applies only for prepaid reservations.

COLLISSION DAMAGE WAIVER AND THEFT PROTECTION:

The rental price includes Collision Damage Waiver, CDW and Theft Protection with an excess of 1000USD if the car is used and operated in accordance with this agreement. If the car is lost or damaged as a direct or indirect result of a violation of the Rental Agreement, you are financially responsible, and you agree to pay Green Rent A Car for all loss of or damage to the car regardless of cause, or who caused it plus the down time of the vehicle.

We accept only total coverage offered by the following companies: GEICO, STATEFARM, PROGRESSIVE, LIBERTY MUTUAL, and USAA. Policies issued in Puerto Rico are not accepted. CDW offered by credit cards issued in Venezuela is not accepted in Green Rent a Car. US residents in order to decline the CDW MUST provide us with proof of full coverage insurance. CDW is mandatory for people from another country different from the US and Florida Residents without insurance in the US. Check DEBIT CARDS policy if you are planning to use a Debit Card.

DEBIT CARDS
US DRIVER LICENSE HOLDERS -except FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSES- are allowed to use the debit card to rent. Foreign customers using debit card as payment or deposit the loss damage waiver and the supplemental liability will be required. If customer has LDW included in the rate or customer has a third party full coverage insurance only the SLI will be required. Read exceptions for the proof of insurance.

DEPOSIT RULES
Deposit we hold $100 if you accept our CDW or $600 if you use your own insurance to protect our car. If you did not have our CDW and the car is returned damaged, we do not release the deposit until the claim will be settled.

DRIVERS LICENSE
We may verify your driver’s license and your driver records. We may refuse the rental if the driver’s license has been restricted in any way. We have the right to deny rental based on information provided by the Department of motor vehicles. Provisional or temporary driver license is not accepted.

EARLY RETURN
Charge of $20 applies if you return in a different date than the one indicated on your contract. You must return the car in the same condition you received it, except for ordinary wear, on the date and at the time indicated in the rental agreement. Under no circumstances, may the car be kept for more than 30 days. It must be returned sooner if we demand it. If the rental vehicle is returned later, you may be charged a late return fee.

EQUIPMENT
GPS AND BABY SEATS are offered. Additional charges apply. Customer is fully responsible for the equipment in the event of lost or stolen. - Baby Seats: For infants less than one year and weigh up to 20 lbs or up to 9 kgs. - Booster Seats: For children between 1 and 5 years old who weigh between 9 and 45 kg (40 to 100 lbs).


GAS
The car is filled when you check it out and must be returned full. Returning a car less than full will impose a refilling charge of 9 USD per gallon.  

CROSS BOARDER
The rental vehicle cannot be driven out of the state in which it was rented.

INSURANCE
The rental rate includes Third Party Insurance with 20000USD coverage and 1000USD excess.

SLI Supplemental Liability Insurance: protects you against claims made by a third party for bodily injury and/or property damage sustained as a result of an accident while you are operating a rental vehicle. Roadside Assistance: Covers any help needed if the car experiences any kind of operating difficulties. RSA basic only for customers located less than 25 miles from any of our locations. RS250 for customers located less than 250 miles from any of our locations.

RESERVATION LENGTH
The maximum rental length is 28 days, while the minimum rental length is 1 day. Rates are calculated based on a 24 hour clock, once this clock has gone past the 24 hour period, another day will be charged


LOCAL RENTERS
Local renters (FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE HOLDERS): Must present a valid ID or Driver license and a credit card on their names. -$600 deposit with the Credit card if the customer declines our loss damage waiver. -$100 deposit with the Credit card if the customer accepts our loss damage waiver. - total payment of the amount of the rental will be made when opening the contract.

MILEAGE
Our rates include UNLIMITED MILES except for residents of the state of Florida. Residents of Florida have 150 miles per day or 1200 miles per rental.

NO-SHOWS
NO-SHOW reservations after 2 hours of the pickup time are not guaranteed. Prepaid reservations have a NO SHOW and cancellation fee of $25.

OTHER
Taxes:  You will pay all sales, use, rental, environmental and excise taxes, including tax-related surcharges.

Fines, expenses, costs and administrative fees -You will pay all fines, penalties, and court costs for parking, traffic, toll and other violations, including storage liens and charges. You will also pay an administrative fee with respect to any violation of this agreement, such as repossessing or recovering the car for any reason.

Return Airport Fee: This charge will be applied at closing of the rental agreement contract and it will be not be reflected in the total amount of your reservation.

Prohibited use of car: Certain uses of the car and other things you or a driver may do, or fail to do, will violate this agreement. A violation of this paragraph, which includes use of the car by an unauthorized driver, will automatically terminate your rental; void all liability protection, and any optional services that you have accepted, including supplemental liability insurance, personal accident and effects insurance, and loss damage waiver. A violation also makes you liable to us for all the penalties, fines forfeitures, liens and recovery and storage costs, including all related legal expenses, fees and cost.

Collections: All charges, fees and expenses, including payments for loss or damage to the car, are due at our demand. If you do not pay all charges when due, you agree to pay a late charge of the lesser of either 1 % per month on the past due balance. If that rate is not permitted by law, then you will pay the highest rate permitted by law on the past due balance. You will pay any collection costs, including a service charge, for any check that is not honoured by a financial institution and our reasonable attorney fees. If you don’t pay any amount when due, if the law permits, you authorize us to contact you or your employer at your place of business about payment. If you fail to pay any indebtedness to us in full, you understand that we may report such deficiency to an appropriate credit reporting agency.

Courtesy phones: When you arrive at the Miami International Airport, you can call us by the courtesy phones located in every terminal of airport.

OVERSTAY
To extend your rental agreement you must contact us at 1-888-526-0440 before your return date. We may or may not grant an extension or grant it for the entire period you request, in our sole discretion. If we do grant an extension a different or higher rate may be applied to the extension period and a service fee may also apply. Failure to return rental property or equipment upon expiration of the rental period and failure to pay all amounts due (including costs for damage to the property or equipment) are prima facie evidence of intent to defraud, punishable in accordance with section 812.155, Florida statutes.

PAYMENT
- Debit (not from Florida Driver License holders) and credit cards are accepted ( American Express, Diner, Discovery, Visa, and Master). Prepay rental terms:

 - If you need to cancel prior to scheduled pick up time, well refund the full prepaid amount less a $25 processing fee. The fee is charged 24-48 hours after the scheduled pick up. No other charges will be placed on the card. This fee will not be charged if your flight is cancelled and the airline and flight number are in the reservation prior to your scheduled pick-up.- Standard rental terms and conditions apply.

 -You must show an id and credit or debit card at the moment of the rental for the deposit. -Deposit is always required even when the reservation is completely paid in advance. -By making the reservation you consent and authorize the no show fee ($25) to be added to your credit card if you don’t rent the car and cancel the reservation.

 -Regardless of the form of payment used at the time of reservation for the no show fee, all location credit and debit card hold rules apply.

PICKUP/DROP
Return Location -the rental car must be returned to the agreed return location as specified on the rental document. Pick Up you must pick up the car in the location specified in your reservation. Rates vary depending on the pickup location.

REFUNDS-EARLY RETURNS

If the rental does not take place, or rental charges, for any reason, are less than the amount paid in advance, Green Rent A Car will, at you request, return your funds in the same location and in the same currency you paid them less a reasonable administrative fee of $25.

RULES
Prohibited use of car -Certain uses of the car and other things you or a driver may do, or fail to do, will violate this agreement.

SHUTTLE
At the airport terminal, head to the MIA Mover (MIA Station, level 3) and take the train to the Rental Car Center (RCC). Upon arrival, enter the RCC and walk forward until the exit door and you will see our own BUS which takes you to our facilities in less than 3 minutes.

SMOKING
We rent NON SMOKING CARS. You will pay an additional charge up to $250 if you return the car and it smells of smoke.

Pre Paid Rentals
Pre-Pay Policy Information: If you need to cancel prior to scheduled pick up time, well refund the full prepaid amount less a $25 processing fee. The fee is charged 24-48 hours after the scheduled pick up. No other charges will be placed on the card. This fee will not be charged if your flight is cancelled and the airline and flight number are in the reservation prior to your scheduled pick-up.

- Standard rental terms and conditions apply. You must show an id and credit or debit card at the moment of the rental for the deposit. Deposit is always required even when the reservation is completely paid in advance.

 - By making the reservation you consent and authorize the no show fee ($25) to be added to your credit card if you don’t rent the car and cancel the reservation - Regardless of the form of payment used at the time of reservation for the no show fee, all location credit and debit card hold rules apply.

INSURANCE WAIVER
I decline the insurance with Green Rent a Car and notify that I will be using my own insurance. I acknowledge that the company Green Rent a Car doesn’t go thru any type of insurance company. You will be fully responsible financially, for the cost of the repairs of the vehicle, loss of usage, parts, and labour. In case of total loss of the vehicle, we remind you that you will be fully responsible for the down time of the vehicle until this is replaced.

TOLL SERVICE

We offer unlimited toll activation for 11.99 USD per day which includes all tolls inside the state of Florida including the EXPRESS LANES. If the toll service is declined at the rental counter, the client must avoid any toll road for their rental period. A 14.99 USD toll fee will apply in case of using the electronic lanes without activation plus the cost of each toll used.

We do not accept any type of external personal tool devised or transponders in our vehicle. If toll service is declined at the counter the client must avoid toll roads at all times.
